Imagine you are in Class 4!

Over the last two years, your learning experience at school was - VERY DIFFERENT than normal! In fact, chances are that you will suddenly find yourself in Class 4. WITHOUT giving any exams for the previous two years!

Now imagine you have a humble background and are a first-generation school-going child. How will you cope with your studies in Class 4? You may not be able to read text fluently and working with numbers could be very difficult. It is going to be an uphill, slippery ascent for you ... for no fault of yours.

Remember Class 4, is a critical year in a child's life. The foundations are built this year, which prepares the child for further complex learning in the school journey ahead. If the basics are weak, chances are the child would slither down the slippery slopes of our education system and DROP OUT.

The situation is alarming. More than 200,000 Class 4 underprivileged, first-generation school children need your help! Let us come together and do our best to STOP the DROPOUT. Let us help a generation of innocent school children now. How?

The good news is Project Eklavya from Lakshya Jeevan Jagriti!

we are all set to 'equip young children with basic reading, writing integrated with social-emotional learning skills before children join schools. So far, Lakshya has already begun working with more than 300 children and the work is happening on a war footing. The project aims to reach more than 20,000 children. मुझे डॉक्टर बनाना है” This is what Sneha, a speech impairment child from one of the slum areas we have adopted, shared with her gesture. The day she met us, she was able to communicate her heart, as Team was able to connect her easily. The first thing we did was to give her a social-emotional learning platform where she is training 100 kids of slums and started training other children in sign language so that Sneha gets new friends. Now when she is comfortable with everyone around her and feels no one is judging her. This is what she has started ❤️ all she now needs is to move forward and get admission to a good school and succeed in her dream. Please support us in training such 100 kids

Support Slum Families In COVID Time

During lockdown last year we decided to be the part of relief work reached out to the people who were most vulnerable and supported them with food and basic essentials. With 2.5 Lakhs cooked meals, 500 dry ration kits, 700 sanitary napkins.
In 2021 we all have been witnessing the worst time with millions of people suffering in India. The children we work with comes from different slum areas in Delhi. Most of the parents of the students are daily wagers and this is the most challenging time for them. Such are the people who were least prepared for this challenging situation with no savings or backup support. Families like these are now helpless and are struggling every day for basic food and other daily essentials. Some of the families have suffered the demise of the only bread earner and left with nothing.
We are now refocussing on our efforts to support families who lost their only bread earners due to Corona or are in dire need of food and other basic essentials. We are raising funds for children to sponsor their education and provide Grocery support to their families.
we have been working and supporting more than 600 families living in challenging situations in the slums of Delhi which includes Daya Basti, Nehru Nagar, Zakhira, Chuna Mandi.

Some of the families have suffered the demise of the only bread earner and they are left with nothing. Such are the people who were least prepared for this challenging situation with no savings or backup support. Families like these are now helpless and are struggling every day for basic food and other daily essentials. To support families,  we are raising funds for them. How we will do that-

  • We Identify families who lost their only bread earner from the slums of Delhi
  • We submit the death certificate mentioning the reason for the death
  • We add them to our database to provide financial/non-financial support.

You can help us to reach our goal to support 1000 families from low-income communities with financial aid/monthly grocery support and sponsoring the education of their children. Your contribution will help us to reach 600 families directly.

Your contribution will help us to reach 1000 families directly to provide one-month of grocery support and sponsor the education of their children.

The learning experience is mutual – our volunteers gain perspective and the experience and get trained and developed as leaders of their future
